Health insurance plans, also known as medical insurance, will cover a visit to see an ophthalmologist when indicated. An ophthalmologist is a medical doctor specialized in the treatment of eye conditions. At the ophthalmologist's office you will receive a complete and thorough medical examination of the health of your eyes. At Premier Eye Center this examination includes a measurement and prescription for eyeglasses. We accept most major medical insurance plans, which are listed on the right. Please note that some plans, in particular HMO's, require a referral from your general medical doctor in order to see the ophthalmologist. |

Vision plans, also known as optical benefit plans, are mainly intended to provide coverage for the purchase of eyeglasses and/or contact lenses at an yeglass store, or retailer. The eyeglass store must participate with your vision plan in order for you to take advantage of your optical benefit plan. Please note that an individual may have both medical insurance and a vision plan where the vision plan helps cover costs of purchasing glasses or contact lenses. |

At Premier Eye Center we will bill your health insurance plan for the medical examination of your eyes. When it's needed, you will be given a prescription for glasses that can be taken to an eyeglass store of your choosing. |
